An Introduction to Personal Narrative and Self-Revelatory Performance
DATE: Friday, May 5th from 10:30 to 12:15
PRESENTER: Sheila Rubin, LMFT/ RDT/BCT
LOCATION: Center for Creative Growth
1221 Marin Avenue (corner of Talbot) Albany
This work explores personal narrative through improvisation and writing. As we explore the threads and themes that weave through our daily lives, our dreams, family of origin, life goals and community, how do we find the deeper story, the hidden meaning, and the essence of a life's journey?
Through meditation, improvisation, writing, dreams, drama therapy and this embodied storytelling process we can assist clients in reconnecting with their creative process and begin to explore the deeper story, the archetypal life story, and the stories held in the body. Therapists attending this interactive lecture will have a chance to experience the embodied storytelling process and may bring back questions and processes to use with clients.
